Xcaret Park, Xel Ha, Xplor, Xenses, Xenotes & Ventura Park
Xcaret Park, Xel Ha, Xplor, Xenses, Xenotess & Ventura Park, which park should one visit in Cancun?
Since each park has its own merits and I can still remember very well that I could not decide at first, I thought about writing you a post about it.
Except for the park Xenotes I visited all the parks already.
I personally like the park Xcaret and Xel Ha best and I recommend you to buy the tickets directly on the respective websites and as far as possible to plan the visit in advance, as it is cheaper. In addition, you can reach the parks Xcaret, Xel Ha, Xenses and Xplor super comfortable with the ADO. The bus goes directly from the terminal in Cancun to the parks.
I’ll start with the oldest and largest park Xcaret:
The regular entrance fee is around 1,700 pesos and you can book your own all-inclusive meal plan and transportation. We always take the food, but everyone can decide for themselves. The park is beautiful and typically Mexican.
There are attractions such as an underground river to drift along, the Plaza Principal to stroll through, you can admire various animals such as butterflies and birds and so on and so forth. To really see all the activities look directly on the website.
Xcaret is located directly on the sea and even has its own beach. You can also book activities such as the “Adrenalina” boat. It’s really fun, but it’s far from cheap.
From the afternoon you can see typical Mexican shows such as “Danzas Prehispánicas” in the Pueblo Maya. At the park entrance you will find an overview when and where the shows are.
At this point, my very special tip to anyone who makes a holiday in Cancun between the 30th of October to the 2nd of November, is sure to drop by the Xcaret. There is a special event for the Day of the Dead and the whole park is decorated and there are special shows. You really should not miss this!
The park is open daily from 08:30 am – 10:30 pm.
The next Park Xel Ha is a pure all-inclusive swimming and snorkeling park:
The entrance fee is around 1,800 pesos and already includes all-inclusive meals.
In this park you have the possibility to book the package “Entrada Xel Ha Total” in advance. This means that you book and buy an attraction in advance, which of course is cheaper than buying it locally. The “Adrenalina” boat supposedly goes to the ruins of Tulum.
In the park you have the opportunity to snorkel and swim in a huge area, the equipment is available locally. There is also a new attraction in the park, a huge tower with a waterslide. The meandering in a circle down to the bottom. I love water slides, though I have to admit that I was glad not to have drunk 2 Mojitos more before. The slide is nice, but did not blow me away personally. I like it steeper and faster.
The park also has a small beach that invites you to linger and many hammocks and nice places to rest and drink cocktails. There are no shows in this park.
The park is open daily from 08:30 am – 06:00 pm.
The next park is an action park and is called Xplor:
Here you have the opportunity to visit the park during the daytime between 09:00 am – 05:00 pm (Xplor) or in the evening between 05:30 pm – 11:30 pm (Xplor Fuego). This park is the most expensive park in Cancun with an all-inclusive ticket price of around 2,600 pesos. When you arrive in the afternoon and book Xplor Fuego, you pay only around 1,900 pesos.
The park offers all-inclusive catering, but alcohol is not spent due to the activities.
The activities are identical for both packages, however, the Xplor Fuego package will have torches set up and fires lit.
Probably the most popular activity is the cable cars. They are really fun. One drives from one cable car to the next as by a Parkour. In this activity you can start your normal stuff, you will not get wet there.
Very funny was also the next activity with the jeep to drive through the park. The jeeps are not very fast, but they wobble all the more when driving.
You can also paddle a raft through an underground lake and drift through an underground river.
I would advise you to book the Xplor Fuego in the summer, as it is still hot at night and in winter the park is more likely to visit during the day, as frostbite would not float through the subterranean lake at night. You should also know that this park is closed on Sundays.
Let’s get to the next park Xenses:
This park costs around 1,400 pesos admission and does not offer all-inclusive food. Every drink and every meal has to be bought expensive and the choice is not too big either. You should better take care of your own food.
The park is a park of “senses”, such as listening, feeling, etc.
There are activities in the dark where you can only feel and walk through a parkour, there is a village where everything is “weird” and even the running through the village feels weird. I do not like that very well, but it’s funny to take pictures. There is a waterslide, a mud parkour through which you can float and a cable car in which you are mounted horizontally, so that you have the feeling to fly.
I thought it was nice to visit the park once. However, I did not like it so much that I would have to visit it again or would have to say at this point “Wow, that was so crazy, visit it!”.
It is nice, but I like the aforementioned parks much better and this park is not particularly favorable.
The park is open daily from 08:30 am – 07:00 pm. Closed on Sundays.
Let’s come to the next park Xenotes:
As already mentioned, I have not visited the park yet, but it is on my to-do list. Actually, this is not a real park, but rather a guided tour of 4 Cenotes, as they could not be more different. The entrance fee is around 2,200 pesos and includes soft drinks and a picnic.
The equipment needed for the different cenotes are provided on site and are included in the price.
The park is open from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm. Closed on Sundays.
Let’s come to the last park, the Ventura Park Cancun:
The park is located at the end of the Zona Hotelaria and is an all-inclusive water park and costs a regular 1.200 pesos admission, but if you book online you save 50%! With 600 pesos ticket price he is the cheapest park in my post.
There are some water slides, a mini roller coaster and an underworld. The Underworld is a hall with computer and laser games.
There is a buffet and drinks all the time. The alcoholic drinks are included in the price. The park is nicely opened and worth the entrance fee of 600 pesos. The food is okay, but of course you will not find a gourmet kitchen. The same principle exists with the alcohol, there one finds also only the favorable selection, however with the low admission price I think it is okay.
The park is open every day from 10:00 am to 05:30 pm.
